Welcome to the website of Vincent van Wijk.

Vincent is an oboist in orchestras and ensembles since 2010, oboe teacher at the Young Talent Department at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, he is artistic director of the Leidse Hofjes Festival and co-founder of contemporary music platform Lonelinoise

Vincent studied Bachelor&Master of Oboe at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague with Prof. Alexei Ogrintchouk, Prof. Karel Schoofs and Prof. Ali Groen. Currently he lives in The Netherlands, he is holding the position of principal oboist of the Metropole Orkest. Besides that, he has worked as principal oboe, tutti oboe and English Horn soloist in orchestras like the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (NL), WDR Sinfonieorchester Koln (DE), Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra (NL), Netherlands Philharmonic&Netherlands Chamber Orchestra (NKO), Dutch Radio Philharmonic, Brussels Philharmonic (BE), The Hague Philharmonic, Dutch Ballet Orchestra, Metropole orchestra (MO), Phion and South Netherlands Philharmonic.

Besides orchestra work, Vincent loves making chamber music and creating programs in ensembles like the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (NBE), ASKO | Schonbergensemble and his new co-founded contemporary music platform Lonelinoise, recently awarded in the Dutch National newspaper NRC Handelsblad as one of the highlights of the Lockdown period 2020-2021. He is invited multiple times to play on NPO Radio 1&4.

Vincent plays Marigaux (M2 model) – Marigaux (English Horn) – Gebr. Monnig (Oboe d’amore) and is supported by the Dutch talent foundation of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.
